PRAYER FOR WAYWARD CHILDREN

Scripture

: Proverbs 16:25

The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:25, there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the
end it leads to death. The devil has devised all kind of plans to distract the young ones and
lead them away from God. It is an understatement to say that morality has totally broken
down in our society. Majority of our children are being brainwashed by the media who in
most cases calls what is evil good and the good bad. The battle for the lives of our children
is very fierce, and it seems like the secular world is winning. But this must stop! Parents must
wake up to their calling and refuse to cooperate with the world no more.
The Bible says sons are a heritage from the lord, children a reward from Him (Psalm 127:3).
As parents we have the responsibility of bringing up our children in the way of the Lord. God
has given us parents’ authority and power over them. But many parents have missed it by
not training their children the way they should go. A lot more have refused to pray for their
children with passion and great intensity. Many more parents have withheld discipline from
their children which is a direct contradiction to the word of God in proverbs 23:13. So many
Christian parents are following the standards of the world in bringing up their children, no
wonder many of such children now dwell in a “strange land” just like the prodigal son (Luke
15:11-31). Living in a “strange land” means they have separated from God and now live
according to the world standards. They are now of the world. If you have a child living this
way, the good news is that he/she does not have to live like this anymore. If you will repent
of your shortcomings as a parent and ask God for forgiveness for your part of the mess, He
will show you mercy and show forth His power as you pray the prayers below. And your lost
child will receive God’s touch even in a strange land. He/she will come to his senses and
come back home. Remember, you have an obligation to throw your arms wide open and
forgive this child when he/she returns, just as the living God welcomes us back when we
come to Him after messing up. Are you ready? Pray the following prayers with all your heart
preferably at midnight when the hosts of darkness are usually at work.

Instruction – Ask God for forgiveness for all your shortcomings in bringing this child up.
(Take your time to confess as the Spirit of God reminds you). Now pray the
following prayers.

Empower me o Lord by your Spirit to pray and pray through tonight in Jesus’ name

I soak my child (mention his or her name) in the blood of Jesus right now.

Heavenly father, put a separation between (your child’s name) and the world
around him/her in Jesus’ name.

Lord let (your child’s name) come to his/her senses right now in Jesus’ name.

Every spirit that has held (your child’s name) bound, loose him/her in Jesus’ name.

You agent of darkness assigned to monitor (your child’s name), I bind you in Jesus
name.

I destroy every negative influence of peers over (your child’s name) in Jesus’ name.

Father, let (your child’s name) be a powerful influence among his/her peers, bringing
them to the knowledge of Christ in Jesus’ name.

I command every activity of the enemy over (your child’s name) to stop right now in
Jesus’ name.

Let (your child’s name) be overwhelmed by the power of the Holy Ghost right now in
Jesus’ name.
